Sir Trevor McDonald has split from his wife Jo, according to reports.
The ITV news favourite, 81, and Jo have decided to call time on their marriage after 34 years and it is claimed that Sir Trevor has left the marital home and moved into a 'bachelor pad'.
It is understood that the break up is "amicable" and that the former couple "are still speaking" after erasing they no longer make each other happy.
A source told The Sun: “It is sad but Trevor and Jo realised they weren’t making one another happy any more, and that it was time to move on with their lives."
They added: "He and Josephine have a long history so obviously they are still speaking, and everything is amicable."
“Trevor has moved into his own apartment and friends are joking it is his bachelor pad. "
The insider also added that the split is "no secret" within the his and Jo's inner circle.
Jo and Sir Trevor married in 1986 and they share a 31-year-old son named Jack.
Sir Trevor was previously married to a woman named Beryl and has two children from his first marriage.
The TV legend has always been incredibly private about his personal life.
