Sir Tom Jones has recorded an emotional tribute to Linda, his late wife of 59 years, on his new album.
The Pontypridd singing legend explained on his Facebook page how the track I Won't Crumble If You Fall was inspired by something she said to him in 2016, shortly before passing away with lung cancer.
"When (my wife) Linda fell ill, I went to see her in hospital and told her that I didn’t think I’d be able to carry on without her," said Sir Tom, whose chart-topping new LP Surrounded By Time - his first since her death - has seen him receive some of the best reviews of his long career.
"My son Mark was there too. We were cut up. But Linda was the calmest person in the room and said, 'You two are going to have to mentor each other through this'. I'll always remember that."
And he previously revealed that Linda, his childhood sweetheart, had already addressed his doubts about being able to carry on singing without her, telling him. "Don't fall with me. I've got to go, but you don't have to."
He also said that Linda reminded him to "think of her laughing" if he ever struggled to perform.

I Won't Crumble If You Fall was originally recorded by US civil rights activist and singer Bernice Johnson Reagon and is one of 12 songs featured on Sir Tom's new album which are meant to represent different parts of the 81-year-old's storied life.
