Sir Sean Connery's suit from 007 film to be sold at auction along with other film memorabilia

Sir Sean Connery 's suit, which he wore in the 007 film You Only Live Twice, is amongst thousands of items of TV and film memorabilia set to be auctioned off.

The outfit of the late Scottish actor will go under the hammer along with lots of other items that film fanatics will appreciate, worth an estimated £5.5 million.

Other items which will feature in the auction is the helmet that Russell Crowe wore in Gladiator and a signed hoverboard from Back To The Future Part II.

The item which is has the highest value in the collection is a light-up X-wing filming miniature from 1983’s Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and experts are estimating that it will go for between £200,000 and £300,000.

Film buffs can get their hands on the items at the Prop Store’s three-day auction in November.

Those interested in the items will be able to go for a preview at the the Prop Store office facility in Hertfordshire between October 12 and November 11 with more than 120 lots.

Back in the summer, two suits of Connery's that he wore during the 1980s in films such as The Untouchables and either Five Days One Summer or Never Say Never Again, went for £7000 at auction.

And earlier this year, private letters written by Sir Sean Connery about his love of Edinburgh were sold at auction.

The late James Bond star wrote the letters to a friend who he had known since childhood in the early 1990s.

In one, he reminisced about growing up in the city’s Fountainbridge area after his friend sent him a video of Edinburgh trams.
