Sir Rod Stewart pays £20 for tribute act of himself to appear at son's 26th birthday

Multimillionaire Sir Rod Stewart paid £20 for a hilarious gift for his son Liam's 26th birthday.

Rod, who is worth £170m, and his wife Penny Lancaster, 49, hired tribute act "Rud Stewart" to record a funny video.

Yorkshireman Michael Dean, who is based in Sweden, sent a personalised message to the rock legend's son and GB ice hockey player Liam.

Dressed in one of the rocker's classic leopard print shirts, he also sings Have I told You Lately That I Love You, and Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?

In the video, 'Rud' said: "Happy Birthday Liam, you’re in my heart.

“Remember, no matter how old you feel, you’ll never be as old, p****d up or washed up as me, Rod.

“This is for you, from Rod and Penny.”

Speaking of his delight after the recording, Michael said: "It’s not every day a living legend's wife requests a message and song for the rock legend's son's birthday.

"And the message is from the living legend Sir Rod Stewart... awesome and I’m so delighted they asked me. What a brilliant endorsement."

Michael shared the video on personalised message site Memmo and also uploaded it to his Instagram page.

He charges £20 for a message including Rod Stewart song requests and £50 for businesses.

On his page, he wrote: "Hi Michael Dean here aka Rud Stewart international Sir Rod Stewart tribute and lookalike.

"You can find all my original music on iTunes etc I'm based in wonderful Sweden.

"Request a song or message you’d like In English or Svenska and I’ll happily oblige. Stay safe and healthy Happy days Rud."
