Sir Rod Stewart hobbles about in medical boot after £8,000 ankle operation

Sir Rod Stewart isn't letting his medical boot slow him down following his £8,000 operation.

The singer, 75, has had surgery on his ankle to straighten out the bones in his lower leg that he injured through years of playing football.

While touring is off the table thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, Rod has had his knee fixed.

He's been seen heading out for walks with the medical boot on his right leg, getting around with the help of a knee scooter and hobbling into a photocall for his new album Blood Red Roses.

He still looked as stylish as ever in a pair of black skinny jeans with a red stripe down the side of each leg.

He paired them with a patterned shirt and a red and black bomber jacket, finishing off his look with red socks and a black loafer with a skull and crossbones printed on it on his good foot.

Sir Rod, who is married to model Penny Lancaster, 49, spoke about his op with Chris Evans on Virgin Radio.

The star joked that after getting his knee and ankle fixed, his manhood was next on his list.

He said: "My knee got fixed, so then the ankle didn't know what was going on. So when this is done, I should have a straight leg — and then I’ll get my k**b done."

When asked what the meant, the dad-of-eight added: "Mind your own business!"

Rod told the Mirror last month that he was going to be having surgery to fix his ankle.

He said: "First of all it was my knee as I played football all my life. I am suffering for it now. My knee got fixed with a replacement and then the ankle did not know what was going on.

"It was crooked. So I have had to have an ankle fusion. So when this is all done I should have a nice straight leg and I should be able to run.

"My leg has been caused by playing on awful pitches in Los Angeles. They are bone dry."
