Sir Philip Green backed entrepreneur rakes in millions from Daisy

Matthew Riley, the 35-year old entrepreneur mentored by retail guru Sir Philip Green, is more than £5m better off today after his Daisy telecoms group made its debut on the market.

Riley picked up around £80m in cash and shares when Daisy agreed to reverse into Aim-listed Freedom4 (formerly Pipex).

On its first day of dealings in its new incarnation, Daisy has jumped 6p to 88p adding some £4.8m to the value of Riley's shares. He set up Daisy in 2001 and won a Bank of Scotland award which gave him a £5m interest free loan and mentoring from Sir Philip.
