Sir Kenny Dalglish sends emphatic message to FSG over Liverpool Super League position

Sir Kenny Dalglish hopes Liverpool owners FSG "do the right thing" over their plans with the European Super League.

The Reds legend said the "last few days have been difficult", after it was announced the club were one of 12 founding members wanting to form a closed-shop breakaway competition on the continent.

On Tuesday night, just 48 hours after the initial announcement sparked a tremendous backlash from supporters, pundits, journalists and even players and managers involved with the so-called 'founding clubs', the house of cards started to creak.

Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly set to leave the competition while Barcelona said they will let fans decide on their involvement following condemnation from the football world for all those clubs involved.

And now, one of the most highly-respected people to have ever graced Liverpool, Dalglish has added his voice to the conversation.

He tweeted: "The last few days have been difficult for everyone who loves Liverpool Football Club and I really hope we do the right thing."
