Sir Kenny Dalglish is recovering well from his bout with coronavirus, as daughter Kelly Cates revealed: "He is getting moany, so we know he's getting better!"
Liverpool legend Dalglish was admitted to hospital last week for treatment on gallstones when he tested positive for Covid-19.
King Kenny returned home on Sunday and Cates told BBC Radio 5 Live: "He's doing all right. My mum's got a patio that needs jet washing so we need him up and about as soon as possible.
"He's good. He's not quite up and 100 per cent yet but he's not too bad at all."
Dalglish, who won eight league titles and three European Cups as a player and manager at Anfield, paid tribute to the NHS staff that had cared for him during his hospital stint.
"They were absolutely brilliant," he said. "As a nation, we are very lucky to have them. I wish them well as they continue to work.
"It's never easy being in hospital but when you are in the care of our NHS staff then it is wholly comforting. You know you are in good hands."
Dalglish took to Twitter to pay tribute to the victims and survivors of Hillsborough on the 31st anniversary of the disaster.
The Scot was in the Liverpool dugout as manager for the FA Cup semi-final between the Reds and Nottingham Forest at Sheffield Wednesday's ground when tragedy struck.
"This is a day when, first and foremost, we remember those who went to a football match and never came home - they will never be forgotten," he posted.
"But we should also think of the families and survivors who showed the rest of us how to deal with an unimaginable tragedy.
"By sticking together, supporting one another and standing up for what was right, they set an example which will always resonate, none more so than during the current time when so many families are dealing with tragedies of their own.
"Today, my thoughts will be with everyone who has suffered since April 15, 1989 and everyone who is suffering now.
"All we can do is carry on sticking together and finding strength in each other in the same way that the Hillsborough families and survivors have over all these years."
