Sir Elton John fans spot special nod to Merseyside during Glastonbury set

Eagle-eyed Sir Elton John fans spotted a special nod to Merseyside during his Glastonbury set.

The Rocket Man singer closed the Worthy Farm festival on Sunday with classics including Bernie and the Jets, I'm Still Standing and Tiny Dancer. Sir Elton said it might be his last ever show in the UK as he told the roaring crowd he "really appreciated" their love and support.

As the singer performed 'I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues', old photographs flashed up on the screens behind him. One photo appeared to show Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton, with fans rushing to comment on the image.

One fan said it's not the first time Sir Elton has including an image of New Brighton in his set, with the singer also having shown the images during a concert in Melbourne, Australia.

Another fan added: "Elton rocking the fort."
