Sir David Beckham revealed he felt “emotional” about his knighthood amid his eldest son Brooklyn’s silence on the momentous day.
The England legend, 50, received his knighthood at Windsor Castle for services to sport and charity on Tuesday.
He was supported by wife Victoria, 51, and their children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14 - although Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz failed to attend the ceremony and ignored the milestone on social media.
It is thought that Brooklyn, 26, remained solely focused on promoting his hot sauce brand, Cloud23, at a conference in Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday and did not answer any questions about his family amid continued reports of a rift in the famous clan.
Victoria later shared a photo with David and their kids on Instagram as she expressed her pride in her husband, with Brooklyn noticeably absent from the snap.
Reflecting on his life dream, David said it was a day “full of emotion and tears”.

“Today has been such an emotional day - more emotion than nerves, in all honesty. There have been a few tears and a lot of emotion. It’s been a very special day. It’s something that we can all be proud of today as a family,” he told The Sun.
“To have my parents there today, to have my wife there to celebrate with my children, it makes it a very emotional day.
“To receive such an important honour from His Majesty the King - one of the most elegant men, and someone from the most important and respected institution in the world.”
The Standard has contacted Brooklyn’s representative for comment.

After receiving his knighthood, David wrote an emotional message on social media, saying: “I can't even begin to describe what a special day it is for me today, a boy born in East London, to receive a Knighthood from His Majesty The King.
“I am truly humbled and so grateful for this honour. I have been fortunate to represent our country and I've always done that with pride... I love our Royal Family and what it means to people not just in Great Britain but around the world.”
He then paid tribute to, “my beautiful wife who has been by my side for the last 28 years, who has been my biggest supporter and my shoulder to cry on in tough times….without her I wouldn't have had the life I have had.”
David added: “To my beautiful children who I am so proud of and I know this is a proud and inspiring day for them as well, they are our greatest joy in life and my inspiration every single day.”

Rumours about a feud in the family began swirling since April 2022, when Brooklyn’s wife Nicola opted not to wear a Victoria Beckham gown to her wedding.
The actress, 30, has publicly denied that there was any ill intent behind the “dress drama.”
However, the couple has missed numerous high profile family occasions in the years since, including Victoria and David’s birthdays this year.
Brooklyn also skipped the premiere of his mother Netflix documentary last month and none of his family were invited to his recent vow renewal in New York City with Nicola.
