Sir David Attenborough has received the Covid-19 vaccine

Sir David Attenborough has received the Covid-19 vaccine.

At the age of 94, the natural historian falls into one of the highest categories of priority and has received the jab, a representative confirmed.

He joins a growing list of well known faces to receive the vaccination.

It comes just days after it was announced that The Queen, who is the same age as the historian, also received the vaccine, alongside the Duke of Edinburgh.

Speaking to the Telegraph last month, the Planet Earth star said he would be sure to have the vaccine when offered.

Sir David has also recently launched his latest inspiring television series A Perfect Planet.

The five-part series focuses on how living things have adapted to various settings such as volcanoes and reacted to the weather.

Meanwhile, the roll out of the Pfizer and Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine is continuing.

Both vaccines require two doses and will be made up to 12 weeks apart in order for more people to receive their first jab.
