Sir David Attenborough is furious after scammers claimed he developed a cannabis oil product.
The sellers state on Facebook Sir David believes he “wouldn’t be here” if not for the CBD supplement.
They also list fake reviews from stars including Dame Helen Mirren, Rowan Atkinson and Ed Sheeran.
Sheeran’s false quote reads: “The advances David has made in the CBD industry are remarkable.”
Dame Judi is supposed to have said: “David gave me a sample of Nutrax oil and the product is a miracle worker. It only took a few days for me to notice the difference.”
Sir David, 94, was “appalled” after being alerted to the advert for “David Attenborough CBD Oil” by a fan.
His spokesman said: “These are not genuine endorsements and Sir David has had no involvement whatsoever with these products.
“The companies do not have permission to use Sir David’s name or image.”
A website, Medium.com, has a fake article which quotes him as saying: “My pain has been such a problem. Once I started using CBD it was amazing. I was converted.”
Sir David's spokesman added: "He wishes to extend his sympathies to anyone that has been adversely affected by these companies and their actions.
"He also wants to make it clear that there is no authorised David Attenborough Facebook account, as there are many false accounts on Facebook claiming to be his.
"This is being reported to Facebook and Sir David would encourage anyone who spots these fraudulent adverts also to report them to Facebook."
