Sir Bruce Forsyth 'unlikely' to attend Ronnie Corbett's funeral as he is still recovering from operation

Sir Bruce Forsyth will most likely not be attending his good friend Ronnie Corbett’s funeral next week as he is still recovering from a February operation, according to reports.

Corbett died last month aged 85 after a reported private illness with motor neurone disease. His private funeral is scheduled to take place on Monday near his home in south London.

While many high-profile entertainers who were friends with The Two Ronnies star are expected to be in attendance, unfortunately Sir Bruce is unlikely to make it as his recovery process is taking longer than hoped.

His manager said: “I suspect he won’t go because he is still convalescing. It is taking longer than we hoped so it is unlikely but I don’t know.” reports the Press Association.

Sir Bruce is still recovering from keyhole surgery he had in February. The veteran entertainer underwent a procedure on an abdominal aortic aneurysm which was discovered following medical checks he had after a fall in October.

Sir Bruce paid tribute to Corbett on the day his death was announced, calling it “one of the saddest days of my life”. The 88-year-old told the BBC: “Ronnie was a friend, someone I admired so much. It’s a very, very sad day. I’m going to miss him like crazy.”
