Sir Billy Connolly spotted walking the streets of Glasgow by excited fans

Sir Billy Connolly looked a picture of health as he went walkabout in Glasgow city centre yesterday.

The Big Yin, who has Parkinson’s disease, belied his condition by holding an umbrella over his head in the rain, above.

Onlookers couldn’t believe it was Billy when they saw him striding along the city’s Buchanan Street.

As well as a tremor and weakness in his left hand, the comedian admitted his illness causes balance and energy problems.

But shopper Chris Hesketh, who was in St Vincent Street when he spotted his comedy hero, said Billy was in “vibrant” form.

He added: “I told him I used to watch his videos to cheer me up. He was in good spirits, kindly talked away and told me he was feeling good – and was visibly mobile.”
