Legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson admits he was left in tears by Ryan Christie's already legendary post-match Scotland interview after reaching Euro 2020.
The Celtic star scored in the play-off triumph over Serbia and was visibly emotional as he talked to Sky, as if still taking in the enormity of the achievement.
Sir Alex may have been through almost every emotion on the touchline during his trophy-laden spell as Manchester United boss, but he admits even he got caught up in the moment.
Speaking as part of the Club Legacy project he wished the fans could have been there for the shoot-out victory.
However, he insists it was still a moment felt by supporters despite the pandemic.
He said: "The tragedy of it all is that the Tartan Army wasn't there.
'They've been following the team for 100 years. I always remember in Italy in the World Cup the fans being there, and we're missing that, and they miss that.
"When they scored, Serbia, in the last minute I was like 'oh Christ almighty, extra-time, no chance'.
"But they saw it through, they really did, they dug their heels in, but David Marshall 's save - that was it.
"And he didn't even know if they had qualified or not and everybody is jumping on top of him.
"Then the Ryan Christie interview - I was crying when I saw him crying! It was fantastic.
"You talk about a boost to the country, I mean it was fantastic."
