Sir Alex Ferguson reveals Jurgen Klopp phone call the night Liverpool won the Premier League

Sir Alex Ferguson has issued a classy message to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after revealing that the German has won the League Managers' Award for the 2019/20 season.

Klopp guided Liverpool to their first league title in 30 years and has now been handed the trophy named after the former Manchester United boss.

Speaking in a pre-recorded message on Sky Sports News this evening, Ferguson issued a glowing verdict on Klopp.

The brief message to Klopp also includes a brilliant revelation that the Liverpool boss rang Ferguson in the early hours to tell him that the Reds had won the league title.

Ferguson told Sky Sports: "The winner, Jurgen Klopp. Jurgen, fantastic. I speak about Leeds United and 16 years in the Championship, Liverpool 30 years since winning that league is incredible.

"You really thoroughly deserved it. Your performance level of your team was fantastic.
