Sir Alex Ferguson picks 'electric' Hampden as the greatest stadium he's ever experienced

Legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson reckons Hampden Park created the greatest atmosphere he's ever come across.

Having won just about every major trophy available to him during his fabled coaching career, the ex- Manchester United boss will undoubtedly go down as one of, if not the greatest manager in the history of British football.

With Scotland, Aberdeen and United, Sir Alex has led his teams out to some of the most awe-inspiring environments in the modern game, and has sampled the white-hot atmospheres of football's most iconic cathedrals.

However, answering fan questions as part of promotional work for a new documentary on his life, the man himself insisted no other ground can compare to Scotland 's national stadium:

Given he regularly visited stadiums such the San Siro, Nou Camp, Santiago Bernabeu and Wembley during his glittering managerial career, this is pretty high praise indeed for Hampden Park.

The new documentary, Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In, made by his son Jason, is released in cinemas this weekend.
