Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic will contest what promises to be a fierce Wimbledon men’s singles semi-final showdown on Friday.
The heavyweight bout many hoped for on this side of the draw has come to fruition, as Sinner - the current world No1 - goes head to head with seven-time champion Djokovic - a man with more career Grand Slam titles (24) than any other - on Centre Court.

Italian star Sinner has the edge in the pair’s overall head-to-head record, having won five of their nine total meetings. That includes the last four straight, starting with a historic Davis Cup victory in November 2023 before most recently triumphing over his upcoming opponent in this year’s Roland Garros semis.
But the world No6 Serbian, 15 years Sinner’s senior, has gotten the better of him in both of their previous Wimbledon clashes, winning in the 2022 quarter-finals and 2023 semi-finals.
Djokovic has also made six straight Wimbledon final appearances. The 38-year-old won the first four of those, becoming only the fourth man to notch four in a row at SW19 after Bjorn Borg (1976-80), Pete Sampras (1993-95, 1997-2000) and Roger Federer (2003-07), before falling to Carlos Alcaraz at the final hurdle in back-to-back years.
Should he stop Sinner and beat the victor of Taylor Fritz vs Alcaraz in the final, Djokovic would pull clear of Margaret Court as the winningest Grand Slam singles player in history.
Sinner, meanwhile, has never progressed past the semi-final stage at Wimbledon, and indeed has only reached this point once before - when he was beaten by Djokovic two years ago.
The 23-year-old will be eager to change that statistic, and looks in good form to do so after beating 10th seed Ben Shelton in straight sets in the previous round. Sinner promised that he would “be 100 per cent” by Friday’s meeting with Djokovic after dealing with an elbow issue through that quarter-final match.
As for Djokovic, an awkward fall in the latter stages of his four-set quarter-final victory over Flavio Cobolli appeared to temporarily shake one of the sport’s all-time greats. But he recovered to reach a record 14th Wimbledon semi-final, and is similarly hopeful of playing pain-free this afternoon.

Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic in the 2025 Wimbledon men’s singles semi-finals will take place on Friday, July 11 on Centre Court at SW19.
The match is due to begin at approximately 3:10pm BST, though that is dependent on the running time of the afternoon’s first men’s singles semi-final, between Fritz and Alcaraz.

TV channel: In the UK, you can watch live television coverage of the Wimbledon men’s singles semi-finals for free on either BBC One or BBC Two.
BBC One’s coverage is due to start at 2pm BST, and run until 6pm, while BBC Two is scheduled to begin its coverage at 12:30pm BST. The latter will run through until 8pm, when a highlights programme - ‘Today at Wimbledon’, hosted by Qasa Alom - covering the day’s action begins.
