Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald has condemned last night’s horror shooting in Co Derry which saw the tragic death of journalist Lyra McKee.
Ms McDonald said on Friday: “The violence that unfolded last night and the loss of life- people are appalled, people are heartbroken and people are angry.
“But above all people are resolute.”

Ms McDonald also slammed those responsible for the horrific incident which saw the PSNI being attacked by a group of 100 people just after 9pm on Thursday night.
She told the Irish Mirror: “You bring nothing, only heartache, and disruption and pain.
“We have a democratic peaceful pathway to Irish unity.
"It’s Easter weekend, republicans will meet in the course of this weekend to commemorate the past and chart a pathway forward to a new and peaceful ireland. So stop. You have nothing to offer.”
Freelance journalist Lyra McKee, 29, was tragically shot dead during a night of rioting in Creggan.
She was rushed to hospital in a police Land Rover but was later pronounced dead.
The PSNI released a statement on Friday morning condemning the "terrorist incident", and confirmed a murder investigation was launched.
