Sink hole opens on Nottingham road as firefighters called to crash

Firefighters were called to the scene of a crash after a sink hole opened up on a Nottingham road.

Crews from Stockhill fire station were called to Tettenbury Road in Sherwood at around 1.40pm on Friday, June 19.

The fire service confirmed a crash happened and involved a van as they worked to make the scene safe and recover the vehicle.

A tweet from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "1340hrs #StockhillStn20 were called to assist at Tettenbury Road, Sherwood, where a sink hole has opened up in the road, resulting in an RTC involving a van. The crew made the scene safe."

Tettenbury Road is a residential street just off Rockford Road, close to Valley Road, which leads to Nottingham City Hospital.
