Sinister hooded crook caught on CCTV raiding cars in Paisley family driveway in dead of night

A terrified homeowner is offering a reward to help catch a hooded crook who raided her cars as she slept.

Sinister CCTV images from the house show a suspected thief ransacking cars and even trying her front door.

The frightened victim has appealed for help to identify the cowardly raider, who nicked golf clubs, a purse and camping gear.

The incident happened around 3.40am yesterday in Hillhead Crescent, Paisley .

Security footage from the house shows the suspect — who is dressed all in black with his face partially covered — methodically searching the motors for things to steal.

He even tries the front door of the house as two kids and their mum sleep upstairs.

He can then be seen moving between two cars parked in the drive and removing items.

He opens the boot of one car and removes golf clubs before moving on.

The householder, who we have chosen not to name, says there is a reward available for information.

She posted images from the theft on Facebook in a desperate bid to catch the suspect.

She posted: “Can’t believe this has happened again, but I need your help.

“Some f****r has broken into cars and tried to come in to my house at about 3.30am.

“Anyone who recognises them and gives a name will get money.

“I was in house myself, and two kids stay here. Away with golf clubs, bright pink Kate Spade purse, camping bag and God knows what else. Some of it has already been recovered lying about streets.”

Police are investigating the theft and have appealed for information.

Inspector Tracy Harkins, from Paisley’s community policing team, said: “A number of items were taken from cars parked in a driveway in Hillhead Crescent at around 3.30am on Monday morning.

“If you saw or heard anything suspicious in the area, we would like to hear from you.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
