Single mum 'devastated' after yobs randomly target her house and smash front door and windows

CCTV footage shows the shocking moment that a weapon is used to smash windows of a single mum's home.

In the clips, a group of yobs are seen walking down the street and pointing, before one uses what appears to be a hammer to swing at a house.

Another video, captured from a Ring doorbell camera, shows the same people then running away.

The home, in the Wigan village of Lowton, belongs to single mum Nicole Kennedy.

She lives there with her three-year-old daughter and thankfully both were at Nicole's mum's house when the incident took place at 5pm yesterday (Wednesday December 29).

Nicole told the Manchester Evening News : "They smashed the living room windows and the window on the front door.

"It's not very nice at all. I'm devastated.

"I've built a home for me and my daughter and nobody should have the right to take it away."

"There's paintings of reindeer on the window so you'd know that a baby lives here.

"I genuinely don't know why they've done it.

"I don't have any vendettas with anyone. I literally just go to work and go home, I don't even speak to enough people to have any vendettas.

"On the video they've directed it at my house and that's the most frustrating thing because I wanna know why. What have I done to deserve it? Hopefully it's just mistaken identity."

Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for comment.
