Single man who bought £425 billboard to advertise himself in hope of finding love says he's received thousands of offers

One man looking for love got more than he bargained for after buying a billboard in hopes of finding his soulmate.

Appearing on This Morning, Mark Rofe, of Sheffield, told Phil and Holly how he decided to advertise himself on a huge billboard after being so unlucky in love.

The 30-year-old - who works in marketing - told the duo that he has been single for more than a year, but has now gotten more than he ever could have imagined after receiving thousands of offers. Watch the interview in the video above.

He admitted to trying "all the dating apps in the past", as well as meeting people down the pub or when going out, "but hasn't had much luck."

But instead of giving up, Mark instead chose to go above and beyond in his quest for love and decided to erect a billboard in hopes of finally finding love.

He joked that it was either the billboard "or naked attraction".

Opting for a billboard, he paid £425 to plaster himself on a huge sign in the centre of Manchester, with the words: "Single? Date Mark. This could be the sign you've been waiting for. Visit DatingMark.co.uk."

Within 24 hours, Mark says he received 124 offers.

But it didn't take long for even more applications to come pouring in.

Speaking to Phil and Holly he says that he has now received a whopping 1,000 applications from potential suitors, and counting.

He added: "Oh my gosh the reaction has been insane, I can't believe it.

"I've had over 1,000 people apply and I'd like to thank every single one of those, from the bottom of my lonely heart, I can't believe it.

Applications have come from all over the world, including Canada, South Africa, Lithuania and New Zealand.

When asked by Phil what kind of person he is looking for, Mark said: "So I think my kind of person is anyone who's brave enough to reply to some idiot with his face on a billboard."

Specifically, Mark says he is after someone "who's fun, got a sense of humour, intelligent and there has to be some sort of attraction there."

The lovelorn 30-year-old revealed that half of the applications have come from men.

He laughed: "I should have specified more, but I've been flattered by all the applications that I've had."

Before the interview finishes Mark jokingly tells Holly and Phil that they will be invited to the wedding once he finds his girl.
