Single girl seat reserved in Panjab University engineering courses

CHANDIGARH: Panjab University (PU) vice-chancellor Prof Raj Kumar has approved the recommendations of the committee constituted under the chairmanship of dean (research) Prof S K Tomar regarding quota for single girl child, rural and border area seats, in University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) and University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (UICET).

The other members of the committee included Satya Pal Jain, former MP and Additional Solicitor General of India, CA Vikram Nayyar, registrar, Professor Rajat Sandhir, department of biochemistry, Prof Jatinder Goswami, UIET, Prof Amrit Pal Toor, UICET, Prof Devinder Singh, secretary to VC and convener.

The committee discussed the admission process for additional seats in the engineering courses in different institutes. The committee observed the recommendation of the Joint Admission Committee regarding applications received for additional seats in various categories, rural area, border area, single girl child, Kashmiri migrant/displaced, cancer patient, AIDS patient, thalassemia patient, wards of martyrs/ permanent disabled of Kargil.The seats matrix as well as the reservation/additional seats approved by the governing body in the past for various courses have to be followed in admission for the 2021-22 session.
