Singing schoolboy brings Glasgow street to standstill with heart-warming rendition of Lewis Capaldi hit

A new busker hit Glasgow's busy Buchanan Street this weekend - but he is a lot cuter than the rest.

Little five-year-old David Douglas was singing his heart out on Saturday despite the freezing temperatures to raise vital cash for a new community centre.

The youngster from Alexandria was spreading lots of festive cheer to Glaswegians doing their Christmas shopping with his reindeer antlers and microphone.

But it was the superstars version of Lewis Capaldi's Someone You Loved that stopped shoppers in their tracks.

Despite getting some of the words wrong, little David impressed the crowd with his self-taught rendition, with many cheering him on.

Mum Karen Muir explained: "It was his first time busking and he absolutely loved it, he wants to go back every week.

"He taught himself the song so some of the words are wrong but he is only five years old, he just started school in August.

"He's been singing since he was three but Lewis Capaldi is his favourite so he just listens to the song and teaches himself."

David attends Singer Station in Alexandria and raised a huge £400 towards the group's Christmas show 'We Can Be Heros' to get the kids t-shirts for their performance.
