Singing Glasgow schoolgirl hopes to become next superstar

A Dalmarnock schoolgirl has her eyes set on becoming the next Scottish superstar after discovering her love of singing by serenading her baby brother.

Karli Caldwell has already received hundreds of views on her videos.

The six-year-old discovered her love of singing while helping mum Jaclyn Grimes get her newborn brother to sleep.

The Riverbank Primary school pupil is now hoping to become a star of the stage.

Mum Jaclyn told Glasgow Live: "She's just really started singing since her brother was born because we sing him to sleep, so we've all been surprised about how good she is.

"She got an Alexa for Christmas so she's always singing along to that. I had no idea she knew all the words to Rise Up by Andra Day until she started singing it.

"She had hoped to audition for the Sound of Music stage show but wasn't old enough."

Jaclyn added: "It's amazing how quickly she picks up the lyrics just by listening to them through."
