Singer Lola Young cancels sold-out Scottish show after festival collapse

A POP STAR has cancelled an upcoming, sold-out show in Scotland after taking unwell during a festival appearance.

Lola Young, known for chart-topping single Messy, will no longer be performing at the Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh on October 12 after she cancelled all upcoming appearances “for the foreseeable future”.

It came after the singer collapsed mid-performance at music festival All Things Go in New York.

In a statement posted to Instagram on Wednesday, Young wrote: “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future.

“Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know. Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund.

“I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger.

“Love you all, Lola x”

Clips from the incident have since gone viral on social media, where Young can be seen mouthing to members of her band “I feel faint” and “I feel it coming” seconds before passing out.

The singer was due to kick off her latest UK tour in Manchester on October 6 in support of her new album, I’m Only F*****g Myself.

She has been open about her struggles with ADHD, schizoaffective disorder and addiction, having recently told The Guardian that she sought support from a rehabilitation facility for long-term cocaine abuse.
