Singer Gora Sarbadhikari passes away

SANTINIKETAN: Veteran Rabindra Sangeet exponent Gora Sarbadhikari died on Wednesday evening at Bolpur. He was 80. Born on July 29, 1941, he was a former student and later principal of Sangit Bhavana, the school of music at Visva Bharati. Sarbadhikari was mentored by Kanika Banerjee.

Sarbadhikari was suffering from age related ailments. He was also associated with Akashvani , Kolkata. Durgacharan Mazumder, a former music teacher of Visva Bharati, said, "He was a dedicated teacher and music was everything to him."
