SINGAPORE: Singapore will temporarily suspend all Boeing 737 MAX flights from 2pm (1pm in Thailand) on Tuesday, the civil aviation authority said.
The move came two days after an Ethiopian Airlines crash that killed all 157 on board.
The suspension will affect SilkAir, an arm of Singapore Airlines, as well as China Southern Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Shandong Airlines and Thai Lion Air, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore said in a statement.
On Monday China grounded all 737 MAX planes in the country, while Ethiopian Airlines grounded its remaining fleet.
Thailand's aviation regulator on Monday rejected calls that it follow the Chinese lead and ground the Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet of budget carrier Thai Lion Air. It is the only Thai airline flying the now controversial aircraft.
The same model of plane, operated by Lion Air, crashed in Indonesia in October, killing all 189 people on board.
