'Sinful' Liverpool dessert shop bringing joy to January

Christmas may be over, but indulging in a sweet treat or two in January is still okay.

The month always feels much longer than it actually is, and with two weeks still remaining some of us are in dire need of cheering up.

And what better way than by overindulging in yummy desserts?

I’d recently spotted a dessert restaurant on UberEats that I wanted to try, and after reading some incredible reviews I couldn’t resist any longer.

According to TripAdvisor reviewers, the restaurant is "sinful yet amazing", "fantastic" and a "must visit".

Safi’s Desserts is an Amsterdam-inspired dessert and coffee shop specialising in waffles, cookie dough and milkshakes.

The company has venues across the city, including Walton Vale, Old Swan, Mount Pleasant and Park Road.

This week we ordered desserts from the Mount Pleasant site - but struggled to settle on what to choose. The menu is extensive, with many different options for toppings and ice cream, as well as drinks and gelato.

Safi’s also had a number of offers too, including Buy One Get One Free deals.

The process of ordering was straightforward enough via the UberEats app and there was a short waiting time, which was a bonus.

We were planning on ordering both cookie dough and waffles, but there was a Buy One Get One Free offer on Safi’s cookie dough, so we opted for two of the Nutella Cookie Dough, which cost £6.99 each.

The cookie dough comes with a side of vanilla ice cream, though this was not made clear on the menu.

As we weren’t aware of the additional ice cream, we also ordered a Vanilla Ice Cream with sprinkles, priced at £3.20.

Our order arrived within 15 minutes and the cookie dough was still piping hot, while the ice cream wasn’t melted, as I’d expected.

The cookie dough arrived topped with tons of melted Nutella, which was still warm and combined with the soft, decadent treat well. Add in the ice cream and you’ve got the perfect dessert.

We struggled to finish the whole thing, just because it was so rich - but we’d definitely order it again.

The vanilla ice cream, which was topped with sprinkles, was delightful and a great palate cleanser after so much chocolate.

After struggling to choose what to eat this time around, we’re already looking forward to trying Safi’s Desserts again soon.
