Musician Sinead O'Connor has announced the death of her 17-year-old son, Shane.
The teenager had gone missing and was last seen in Tallaght, South Dublin, on Friday which caused police to launch a public appeal to find him.
Sinead took to Twitter amid the search to plead with her son to get into contact with her.

She tweeted: "Shane, your life is precious. God didn’t chisel that beautiful smile on your beautiful face for nothing.
"This is a message for my son, Shane. Shane, it’s not funny any more all this going missing. You are scaring the crap out of me. Could you please do the right thing and present yourself at a Gardai station. If you are with Shane please call the Gardai for his safety".
As of today, the Gardai called off the search for Shane.
The 55-year-old musician announced the tragic news of his death on Twitter, saying: "My beautiful son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God.
"May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace."

A spokesperson for the Gardai said: "Following the recovery of a body in the Bray area of Wicklow on Friday, 7th January 2022, a Missing Person Appeal in respect of Shane O'Connor, 17 years, has been stood down"
Sinead, who changed her name to Shuhada Davitt in 2018, tweeted a Bob Marley song dedicated to Shane who is the son of Sinead and musician Donal Lunny, 74.
The couple split shortly after Shane was born in 2004.
In total, the Nothing Compares singer has been married four times in total and has four children.
Her other children include Jake Reynolds who she had with her first husband, John Reynolds as well as Daughter Roising Water who she had with Irish journalist John Waters, and her youngest child, Yeshua Francis Neil Bonadio, who was a result of her relationship with Frank Bonadio in 2006.
Following the announcement of Shane's death this morning, Sinead was sent supportive messages from fans and celebrity friends.
Former Pogues member Cáit O'Riordan tweeted: "I’m so sorry Sinead".
TV presenter Muireann O'Connell tweeted: "I am so terribly sorry for your tragic loss. My thoughts are with you and your family."
