Sinead O'Connor asks for prayers for teenage son Shane after 'hideous day from hell'

Sinead O'Connor has asked her fans to pray for her son after a "hideous day from hell".

In a worrying post, the Nothing Compares 2 U singer, 54, took to her Twitter account on Monday night to ask for well wishes for her teenage son Shane Lunny, 16, who she called the "light of my life".

She didn't say what had actually happened to Shane, who she shares with musician Donal Lunny, in her tweets.

Sinead tweeted: "Any spare prayers out there, pls stick one in for my son, Shane. The very light of my life."

In another post she wrote: "Hideous day from hell."

Sinead, who also goes by the name Shuhada Sadaqat, has asked her Twitter followers for help with Shane in the past.

In 2019, when Shane was 14-years-old, he went missing from his home in Dublin before he was later located safe and well.

The concerned mum tweeted at the time: "My sweet 14-year-old son has been going missing a lot and is currently missing for the last two days.

"If you are a parent in whose house he has been staying or is staying, please call Dundrum Gardai.

"Not calling them is not helping him."

Sinead gave birth to Shane in 2004 when she was in a relationship with Donal.

She is also mum to son, Jake, with her first husband John Reynolds.
