SimSpace Deluxe Practice Net Review

Photo of the SimSpace Deluxe Practice Net .

The SimSpace Deluxe Practice Net & Impact Screen aims to bring the driving range experience to your home, offering a convenient solution for golfers looking to refine their swing without even leaving their property! Combining a robust net with a high-definition impact screen, it promises both practice functionality and visual feedback. I put it through its paces to see how it performs in a home setting and see if it can rival some of the best golf nets on the market.

Out of the box, the SimSpace Deluxe lives up to its name and feels premium. It is comparatively pretty weighty when put against some other competitors in this space, but so often, weight is a sign of quality and reliability, so I was not perturbed. The black netting and frame offer a sleek, modern look that won't be too conspicuous if you are trying to blend this in with either a garden or a garage setup.

While the setup process is relatively straightforward, the size of the unit means you'll need ample room, and the aforementioned weight can make handling a bit tricky. The instructions are clear, and while it's not overly complex, having an extra pair of hands is essential for assembly. Circling back to the weight, when you have it assembled, the frame feels genuinely sturdy and well-constructed, inspiring confidence in its durability.

The dimensions of 2.5m x 2.5m obviously require a reasonable amount of space, but this also helps to make sure that your practice sessions don’t feel claustrophobic like some smaller units do.

The option of the add-on impact screen is a brilliant feature, and can turn your run-of-the-mill practice net into a fully operational simulator (with the addition of some important extras such as a launch monitor and projector, obviously!). The quality of the screen on the SimSpace Deluxe is clear, and it delivers a very satisfying feel and sound upon impact. Unlike some cheaper nets that produce a loud thud, the SimSpace screen absorbs the impact with a more dampened acoustic, which is a real plus point if your setup is going to be close to neighbours.

The ball rebound is minimal, which is crucial for safety and convenience in a home environment, and is something that not all of its competitors can boast. Worryingly, I have become quite adept at swiftly dodging rebounding golf balls when testing screens of lower quality.

The primary function of this system is to provide a reliable and safe practice environment, and the SimSpace Deluxe excels in this regard. The netting is strong and capable of handling any shot you can throw at it, from gentle pitches to powerful drives.

Durability is a key consideration for any practice setup, and the SimSpace Deluxe appears built to last. The frame is constructed from robust materials, and the netting feels exceptionally high quality, designed to withstand repeated high-speed impacts. Another highlight of this system is that it is designed for both indoor and outdoor use, with all the metal work being treated to withstand rust and the elements.

Overall, I was extremely impressed with this net. The SimSpace Deluxe Practice Net & Impact Screen offers a comprehensive and effective solution for golfers seeking to improve their game at home, and the versatility to flip between net and simulator is a genuine masterstroke.

Its sturdy construction and well-thought-out features make you feel secure that not only is it safe to use, but it will remain so for a good length of time. While it requires a significant amount of space, its performance and durability justify the investment for serious golfers looking to practice year-round.

The net on its own retails at £299.99, and if you want to add the impact screen, the price goes up to £399.98. There is also the option of a slightly wider net if you have the room, jumping up from 2.5m in width to 3m.
