West Coast coach Adam Simpson has labelled his team "weak" after the Eagles capitulated to their worst AFL loss in 12 years.
After leading by five points at quarter-time, West Coast were demolished by Geelong who kicked 20 of the last 22 goals of Saturday's game to win by 97 points.
It was Simpson's heaviest defeat as Eagles coach after he took the reins in 2014.
It was also West Coast's worst loss since 2009, when they also went down by 97 points against St Kilda.
"I think you can question our effort. There's stages in games from experience where you get a bit of a glazed look over your face and you don't really know what to do.
"We couldn't find a way to get our guys mentally back in the game. Physically, we looked weak.
"Before we knew it, it was 30 points and we couldn't stop that momentum."
West Coast's preparation was impacted with all players having to be tested for COVID-19 due to Perth entering a snap three-day lockdown.
But Simpson refused to use that as a reason for the performance, which saw their healthy percentage take a battering.
"Absolutely no excuses for what we did today," Simpson said.
"Yeah you can lose, that happens, but you want to play a brand you're proud of and we're not at Geelong's level at the moment. They were terrific today."
Star defender Jeremy McGovern was subbed out of the game with an adductor injury and will have scans.
The Eagles will return to Perth on Saturday night and go straight into lockdown and won't be able to train until Tuesday at the earliest.
