Simple ways to reconnect with your friends

Adulting is hard, and trying to fit into this huge, competitive world is a tough task. Finding the best college, getting an internship, earning good grades for placement, and finally landing your dream job. With passage of time, out lives tend to get hectic, and we barely find time for ourselves. But with a good friend to bank on, the process becomes easier. Friends are no doubt our best companions - they make us laugh and cry at the same time and make us feel safe and secure. They are also our biggest cheerleaders, and always have our backs. But slowly, we lose connection with our best companions as life gets in the way, and we fail to balance our friendships.

Here are a few simple ways to reconnect with your friends:

1. Call them

Yes, they might be upset or hurt by your actions or ignorance, but for how long? After all, they are your friends and they will understand your problems and forgive you. Sometimes, clear communication can fix everything, even repairing a long-lost friendship. Once you call them and hear all their complaints, you might find yourself ROFL.

2. Surprise them

Distance can often create a barrier in friendships and at times imaginary differences. Take some time out of your schedule to go meet them and surprise them with your presence. They’ll hug you in the blink of an eye. Big gestures like this can break the barrier and mend your friendship.

3. Have an honest conversation

Communication is key to all relationships. Once you have a sincere and honest conversation with your friends, they will understand you. There’s a possibility they are facing the same problems. Communication can clear everything.

4. Plan a day out with them

Plan a day out with them that includes their favorite activities. Make a list of things you’ll do that day to make it special. This will add to your friendship memories.

5. Apologise

Many friendships are ruined due to distance, differences, and lost communication. Be the bigger person and apologize for your actions or the distance that has come between you. A simple "sorry" can fix everything.
