Simple way to get 35 days off work next year - using just 15 days annual leave

If 2019 has left you feeling drained from all the political drama and like you need to get away for a bumper holiday, then we might have the perfect solution for you.

That's because it turns out there's an easy way for you to add 10 days on to your annual leave entitlement.

In the UK we are given an average of 25 days off work each year (not including weekends and bank holidays) - but in 2020, you could enjoy 35 days off, without going over your original annual leave.

According to The Evening standard, all you have to do is be very selective about the days you choose to book off - here's a look at which ones you should go for.

Around the Easter weekend you should aim to book off April 14, 15, 16 and 17.

Easter falls on April 12, so if you take off the four days after the Easter Monday, you'll find yourself on a 10 day break.

Similarly, you can also pick up a nine-day holiday if you book off the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after any other in the year.

But the best time to maximise your holiday has to be at Christmas - where you can get two weeks and three weekends off work if you play your cards right.

In order to book all this time off, you'll need to use seven days of annual leave.

Christmas next year falls on a Friday and while Boxing Day is on the Saturday, it's officially going to be observed on the following Monday.

So if you ask your boss to give you these days off between Christmas and New Years December 21, 22, 23,24,29, 30 and 31 off you won't find yourself back at your desk until January 4, 2021.

Nice one! We'll meet you at the beach...
