Simple 'trick' to having better sex - but you might need to practice it first

When it comes to adult antics in the bedroom, many people might think they have to really spice things up in order to have a really good time.

But according to the experts, that's simply not the case.

In fact, research has shown that there's one thing both you and your partner can do to improve your sex life - and it's really easy.

Even better? This little 'trick' won't cost either of you a single penny to put into practice.

Why the French are better lovers than Brits - and how we can have sex like them

So what is it that you have to do to have better sex?

Apparently the secret is just to make some noise - moaning while doing the deed can help everyone have more fun and feel great.

Sexpert and NYU professor, Dr. Zhana Vrangalova told Refinery29 that moaning during sex is important because it lets our partners know they're "doing something right" and helps guide them to do more of what we want.

She explained that we make noises during sex because "we want [our partner] to be happy, and because we want to know we are doing something right to make them happy."

But that's not all.

One study found that people who communicate non-verbally during sex, through moans, gasps and other noises can have better sex than those who talk during sex.

The results showed that those who made sex noises had better "sexual self-esteem" and were more likely to experience "sexual satisfaction".

That's not to say that those who give instructions during sex can't be satisfied, just that the researchers saw no guarantee it proved helpful.

While moaning may make all the difference, not everyone will instantly feel comfortable giving it a go, because let's face it, it can be embarrassing.

Self-proclaimed 'love witch', Jinx Lierre recommends practicing on your own before trying with someone else.

"The key to a truly great moan is not caring about how you sound, which is likely to take you out of the moment," she told Refinery29.   "Try moaning on your exhales, starting with a classic 'oh' sound and letting your voice go lower or higher in response to exciting sensations."
