Simple trick that will get you more pizza for less cash

Pizza fans are being urged to remember a simple maths fact that could change the way they order their takeaways from now on.

Maths experts have worked out that ONE 18in pizza is actually more food than two 12in pizzas.

So while you may want one for yourself, you could actually be better served by sharing.

On Twitter, one maths fan - and pizza lover, obviously - pointed out: "An 18in pizza has 254 square inches of pizza while two 12in pizzas only have about 226 square inches."

Unfortunately, there is *one* drawback to this logic.

As one fellow social media user warned: "Yeah, but the crust is arguably the best part and two 12in pizzas have 33.3% more crust than an 18in pizza. And now I'm hungry, thanks!"

But another countered: "The two 12in pizzas together have 33% more crust, which everyone knows is just a tragic waste of bread."

Another counting ace added: "The general principle is: faced with the choice of having one big pizza whose diameter is α times the diameter of the small ones, or β small ones- choose the big one if α>sqrt(β)."

They added: "In the private case above α=1.5>sqrt(β)≈1.41 => choose one big pizza."

Something to bear in mind for your next Domino's order, then!
