It's official, the nation loves a cleaning hack.
In recent months Facebook pages and groups dedicated to tidying tips and cleaning tricks have swept through the internet.
And anything that is quick and easy or homemade and affordable always go down well.
The latest to go viral was shared on the Facebook group, Mums Who Clean, with a woman claiming a toilet trick helped her keep the loo smelling fresh with every flush.
The mum wrote wrote: "[Put] Dishwashing liquid in the toilet tank compartment and every flush is fresh clean smelly bubbles and toilet always looks clean."
She also pointed out that she'd been using the method for 14 years.
While many thought the idea was great, others had their hang ups about it, reports The Mirror.
But if you're unsure about whether to give it a go, or any similar toilet hacks you've seen for that matter, experts have an answer for you.
Speaking to news.com.au a plumber, Peter Daly, advised against using products that weren't designed for tolilets.
He said: "Master plumbers advises that it's safest to use cleaning products specifically designed for flush toilets.
"People living outside built up areas who use septic tanks should ensure the product used is compatible with septic systems.
"We recommend that consumers always consider the environment when choosing cleaning products and its packaging."
