GLASGOW rock legends Simple Minds have been announced as the headliners of the Closing Ceremony of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in the OVO Hydro.
They join Cammy Barnes, BEMZ and Sandi Thom who will perform odes to Scotland at special moments in their own distinctive style on Sunday, August 2.
The curtain call will also be played out by multi-award-winning Highland band and one of Scotland’s most exciting contemporary folk/electronic acts Elephant Sessions, while Shereen Cutkelvin will mark the ceremonial flag handover.
Tom Davies, Executive Producer of the Closing Ceremony, added: “Glasgow is a place where music rings throughout the streets. It’s within the fabric of the city, as a UNESO City of Music.
"This Closing Ceremony is our second chance to showcase Scotland and its uniqueness on stage at the Hydro, where so many have done before.
“The Glasgow 2026 Closing Ceremony is an opportunity to say goodnight to a city, with a huge send off! A moment for the athletes, creativity, music and connect.
