Simple Minds are coming to Glasgow in 2020 on their world tour to celebrate '40 years of hits.'
The legendary rock band, who formed in the city in 1977, will play their homecoming show at the SSE Hydro on Saturday April 25 – the final night of their 38-date run next spring.
The announcement comes as frontman Jim Kerr and co gear up to launch their new album Live in the City of Angels this Friday.
Simple Mind also revealed they'll be releasing a new compilation 40: The Best of - 1979-2019, including a new cover of King Creosote's For One Night Only.
Their label said it "captures their early experimentation, cross over chart successes, right up to their new imperial phase" represented by songs from 2015’s Big Music and last year’s Walk Between Worlds; their highest chart success in over 20 years, charting at number 4 in the UK.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am on Ticketmaster.
