Simple Minds book Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena on major 2020 UK tour - tickets on sale now

They just couldn’t stay away from Nottingham.

As Simple Minds celebrate forty years with a huge world tour in 2020, some may ask why Nottingham wasn’t on the list.  Well, it is now.  Extra arena dates have been added and the band will now be returning to the city for this anniversary tour.

The date for your diary is Friday, August 21 at the Motorpoint Arena.

Fronted by founder members Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, the Scottish legends have added five shows to next year's schedule, also including Aberdeen, Hull, Newcastle and Liverpool.

Jim Kerr said: “We’re not a stock rock band. I’m grateful for the career we’ve had, but I’m mad enough to think we can still hit new levels. This is what we do – write, record and play live."

“The perception that we're now gathering pace is down to our attitude to playing live,” adds Charlie Burchill.

“There have been lots of different incarnations of Simple Minds, but we’ve always kept our identity. A legacy can be a burden if you allow it to be. For us, it's been empowering.”

Tickets are priced from £39.85 for standard seats to £131.20 for the 40th Anniversary Soundcheck Experience.

They are available from Ticketmaster.
