'Simple as that' - Man City fans split about Premier League title chances after Arsenal victory

Manchester City fans have split opinions on their chances of winning the Premier League title after Arsenal moved eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta's side were well on top in the first half against fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur and they were ahead on 14 minutes. Bukayo Saka did well down the right flank before producing a shot which took a slight deflection but was parried into his own goal by Hugo Lloris.

Thomas Partey rattled the frame of the goal moments later as Spurs struggled to deal with the Gunners' attack. It was 2-0 on 36 minutes when a low strike from Martin Odegaard found the bottom corner.

Antonio Conte's team attempted to get back into the match but found Aaron Ramsdale in superb form. Harry Kane in the first half and Ryan Sessegnon in the second were both brilliantly denied by the England goalkeeper.

Arsenal's victory increased their advantage at the top of the table and some City supporters think that the title race is now over. However, a section of Blues supporters think that Pep Guardiola's men still have a chance of overturning the deficit.

Here is how some members of the fanbase reacted to the result.

City missed the opportunity to keep stride with the Gunners on Saturday in the Manchester derby. Substitute Jack Grealish gave the Blues the lead at Old Trafford on the hour mark with a close-range header.

Bruno Fernandes equalised in controversial fashion with 12 minutes remaining when it seemed that Marcus Rashford had interfered in play from an offside position. Rashford would then win the game for Manchester United in the dying stages when he tapped home Alejandro Garnacho's cross.
