Simon Zebo linked with surprise move to London Irish this summer

Simon Zebo has been linked with a surprise move to join London Irish this summer.

The former Munster and Ireland winger's deal expires at Racing 92 at the end of the season, and with France star Gael Fickou on his set for a switch to the Paris club, Zebo's days at Racing look numbered.

But with a Munster return seemingly not on the cards, a reunion of different sorts could well be on the cards for Zebo.

According to Rugbyrama, the winger could be set to join former Ireland head coach Declan Kidney at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Zebo has also worked with London Irish coach Les Kiss under Kidney as well as former Ireland internationals Sean O'Brien and Paddy Jackson.

The 31-year-old has previously opened up about his desire for a return to his native Munster somewhere down the line, but doesn't think it's currently on the cards despite the dangling possibility of representing Ireland at the 2023 World Cup.

"I would really love to do it," Zebo previously said on the topic of a Munster return.

"But sometimes you don't get dealt those cards.

"I genuinely love life in Paris - I could not be happier day-to-day and my family do too. There would be a lot going into that decision.

"The World Cup [in 2023] is there but I would probably be too old so that wouldn't hold much weight!"
