Simon Reeve books and TV shows as he presents The Lakes on BBC One

Simon Reeve is an author, adventurer, documentary filmmaker and television journalist who has presented many fascinating shows and written books about his travels.

The Lakes is Simon's latest TV show and will see the author dig deeper into the stories of the picturesque Lake District area of the UK.

Simon will use the Lake District as a springboard to explore the fascinating and remote county it sits in, in the new BBC Two show.

Talking about the new show, he said: "I can go on a journey in my own country and see somewhere completely spectacular, be surprised by the landscapes, inspired by the people and frankly, astonished by some of their stories."

There's a promise of uncovering surprises and hidden stories about the area.

But how does it compare to the other places Simon has visited and written about?

What are Simon Reeve's books and TV shows?

Simon is a keen traveller and has presented many travel TV shows including 'Mediterranean with Simon Reeve', 'The Americas with Simon Reeve', 'Tropics of Cancer with Simon Reeve' and 'Indian Ocean with Simon Reeve'.

Much like his TV shows, his books also follow the theme of exploration.

The author of seven books, he has written 'Tropic of Capricorn', 'Step by Step: The Life in My Journeys' and 'Journeys to Impossible Places'.

The Lakes will air on Sundays at 9pm from November 14 on BBC Two for three episodes.
