Simon Mignolet has brought an end to his six-year stay at Liverpool by sealing a return to his homeland with Club Brugge.
The Belgian completed the switch after a deal worth an initial €7m - possibly rising to €9m with what the Reds consider achievable add-ons - was agreed between the clubs.
He flew to Belgium following Sunday's Community Shield defeat to Manchester City at Wembley to put the finishing touches to a move.
Jurgen Klopp had been keen to retain Mignolet as back-up to first-choice shot-stopper Alisson Becker this season following his contributions in that role last term.
However, the deal offered by Club Brugge was considered too good to turn down with the goalkeeper's clear desire for first-team football also a major factor.
Mignolet was denied a loan departure to Napoli last summer as a result of Loris Karius' late move to Besiktas.
But the 31-year-old has now secured a switch that ends a nine-year stay in the Premier League which began with Sunderland in 2010.
Standard Sport understands Liverpool will now enter the market for a back-up goalkeeper, with former West Ham goalkeeper Adrian expected to join on a free.
