Simon McCoy marries Emma Samms in secret as couple share first snap from big day

Simon McCoy and Emma Samms have tied the knot in secret after keeping their wedding quiet.

The former BBC News presenter married the love of his life on Saturday, but actress Emma announced the news on Sunday and shocked fans by sharing a sweet photo from their special day.

The lovebirds, who announced their engagement last month - but said they were looking to tie the knot next year, looked over the moon as they were laughing and gazing into each other's eyes in the touching photo.

Simon, 60, had his arm around his new wife, while Emma grinned at her husband.

"Yesterday was a very good day," she wrote alongside the image, adding the hashtag: "#mrandmrs."

Many fans congratulated the couple on their big news, with many complimenting the lovers.

Last month, fans learned that the pair were engaged after GB News anchor Simon confirmed the news.

They planned to marry some time next year.

“Yes, it's true,” confirmed a delighted Simon, in an interview in MailOnline.

"Yes, it's true, we are both so happy, as are our children."

“We shall celebrate in the spring, when it's safe to share a party.”

London-born actress Emma and experienced broadcaster Simon live together in the Cotswolds.

Emma has been married three times before, making Simon her fourth husband at the age of 61. She also has two children from her previous marriages.

Meanwhile, Simon was married for nearly 14 years to Victoria Graham, but the pair sadly split in 2019 and his former wife reportedly embarked on a relationship with her BBC colleague Jon Gripton.

“It's been an incredibly sad time,” revealed Victoria about the split.

“After years of living apart, failed fertility treatment and the death of my father, life changes.

She added: “Every time I see Simon on the TV I feel tremendously proud his career goes from strength to strength.

“We remain very good friends and still have two beautiful border terriers to love between us.”

Simon quit the BBC in March this year and announced he was moving to new channel GB News to present an afternoon show alongside Alexandra Phillips.

He said he wanted a new challenge and said he was “not a leftie BBC journalist”.
