Simon Jordan draws unfavourable comparison between Newcastle United and Arsenal fans

Former Crystal Palace chairman and pundit Simon Jordan has drawn an unflattering comparison between fans of Newcastle United and Arsenal.

The talkSPORT host has labelled supporters of both Premier League sides as being "overly dissentful" on Sunday's edition of Simon Jordan's Final Word.

The topic was raised by speculation over Unai Emery's future at the Emirates Stadium, and reports Jose Mourinho was being lined up as his potential successor.

Jordan cited the volume of calls the radio station received following the Gunners' draw at home to Crystal Palace on October 27 as evidence of a disgruntled and vocal fanbase.

The 52-year-old then drew parallels with the disillusionment of Magpies' supporters, and the dissent he receives for daring to speak about the club.

Jordan said: "There's two clubs that really strike a chord with me in terms of fans being overly dissentful.

"One is Newcastle because I dare speak about them, and the other one is Arsenal. I know they will turn around and say what the hell do you think you know, it's our club and keep your mouth off it.

"I think Arsenal are a fabulous football club. I think there's so much about Arsenal over the years that's been a benchmark for so many good things in the Premier League."
