Simon Jordan says he can "understand" why Steve Bruce opted to rotate his side for their Carabao Cup clash with Burnley.
The Magpies were knocked out of the competition on penalties despite limiting the Clarets to very little throughout the 90.
The Newcastle head coach opted to leave Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joe Willock on the bench, while Callum Wilson dropped out of the squad entirely.

The former Crystal Palace owner and now TalkSPORT pundit, has highlighted where the Magpies went wrong last night.
Jordan said: "I can understand Burnley and Newcastle rotating because they don't have the biggest squads.
"What they rotated specifically, Newcastle, was their creative talent. They've taken [Allan] Saint-Maximin, [Joe] Willock and Callum Wilson out of the line-up.
"When you take those three out of the line-up you lose, probably, the ability to score goals.
"So, it was no surprise to see that Newcastle didn't land any blows on Burnley in their cup tie.
"I think rotation is part sensible. It's dicey if you want to win the EFL Cup.
"It's irrelevant if you don't."
Steve Bruce's comments prior to the game reiterated his desire to win a trophy with the Magpies and he still fielded a relatively strong side.
However, the rotation of four key players ultimately cost Newcastle the game.
When told that Bruce wanted to win a trophy but now find themselves dumped out of the competition, Jordan said: "That is also true.
"But what it also shows you, is probably, and Newcastle will have stronger views on this than me, if you take Callum Wilson out, if you take Willock out, and you take Saint-Maximin out, then they haven't got a lot."
