Simon Harris has heaped praise on the World Health Organisation and slammed "pathetic, silly political attacks".
The Health Minister said Ireland is a proud member of the agency and commended its work during the ongoing pandemic.
The Fine Gael TD sympathised with the pressure the world health chiefs are working under and said the world needs them now more than ever.
Mr Harris wrote on social media: "Ireland is a proud member of the World Health Organisation.

"Now more than ever the world needs it & needs multilateralism.
"Imagine the pressure those in @WHO are working under & imagine the kick in the gut they feel when they face pathetic, silly political attacks.
"Thank you WHO for all you do."
Some countries have suggested that using a "herd immunity" strategy could help fight the virus by allowing more people within a society to contract the infection and become immune.
However, Minister Harris says he does not believe in the approach and sides with Irish doctor Mike Ryan, Executive Director of WHO, who strongly blasted the idea last week.
Speaking on Newstalk on Tuesday morning, Mr Harris said: "This idea of herd immunity is not the approach I take.
"What we are trying to do is keep people well until we find a vaccine."
